The Bridgeland-Riverside Community Association facilitates involvement and opportunities that attract, connect and sustain a diverse network of people and businesses to improve our collective quality of life.
The BRCA’s mission is to foster the vision for Bridgeland-Riverside by serving and engaging residents and other stakeholders of our community through:
- Facilitating the development and delivery of recreational and social programs
- Connecting the community with information and opportunities
- Engaging with the community to support healthy commerce
- Stewarding the land and facilities under the society’s care and making them optimally accessible to the community
- Coordinating and communicating urban planning issues for the future development of Bridgeland-Riverside, preserving its values, while supporting its evolution.

Carmon has been volunteering with the BRCA since 2012, first as the Treasurer for 3 years, and then as the community President for the past 2 years.Read more
At work, Brian is a lawyer who manages several Calgary businesses; at home, he is lucky husband to Lynne and proud father to Kate (14), Ella (10), and Will (8). Plus three dogs and one rabbit. Brian has lived and volunteered in Bridgeland for 18 years and most recently has been Director and Vice President with BRCA since last year. On the Board, Brian has focused mainly upon helping with society governance (bylaws, policies, contracts), human resources, and business issues / planning. Also this past year Brian has been the Board’s key liaison to the Calgary Tool Library program, he has helped out with setups of the Farmers' Market, and has spent a lot of time working as key contributor to BRCA’s Planning Committee.Read more
Matthew has resided in Bridgeland for over 11 years with his wife (Tessa) and three children (8, 6, and 4). They have deep roots in the neighbourhood through their involvement in the church on 8A St, many friends they have made over the years in the neighbourhood and utilizing many of the programs the BRCA provides (Soccer, Hall, fun events). Outside of the community, Matthew is a Director within ATB’s Corporate Banking group, providing lending to many of the large Oil and Gas companies in Calgary. Prior to ATB, Matthew held roles at TD Bank and Petro Canada. Matthew holds an BBA from Simon Fraser University and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.
Nazimah is currently the Board Secretary. She has lived and volunteered in Bridgeland for over 11 years and was the Secretary from 2012-2014. As a member of the Board, Nazimah enjoys listening to the dialogue in meetings, supporting the record keeping requirements, and contributing her insight to the discussions. She is amazed and inspired by the passion and commitment of her fellow Board members.Read more
Ali is presently a proud stay-at-home Mom to two highly active girls, Reilly (12) and Gracie (9) although she fills most of her hours with community work, coaching adventure running/field hockey, and volunteering at Langevin School. Ali and her family moved to Bridgeland from Regina, Saskatchewan 3 years ago. A native of Vancouver, Ali was happy to return closer to the mountains but she still sports a Saskatchewan Roughriders' sticker on her car.Read more
